Working Principle Of Fluid Bed Dryer

The material to be dried is put in a Stainless-Steel bowl with a removable perforated sieve, which is inserted below the Expansion Chamber. Through the moisture-containing solid powdered material air is passed in the upward direction. When the perpendicular velocity of the air increases more than the settling rate of the solid particles, the solid particles will be lifted and remain suspended in the air stream. The solid bed of floating particles appears to be a bed of boiling liquid; therefore, it is called fluidized. Additionally, if the air passed is hot air, then the drying rate further increases. A filter is also attached at the bottom of the container to avoid contamination of the drying material.
